On April 9, 2024, prof. Jordan Gjorcev PhD, President of the Management Board of the International Slavic University, donated 12 artworks to two public healthcare institutions in Veles. This significant donation, which includes paintings from his latest exhibition “Brave New World,” will beautify the spaces of the General Hospital Veles and the Specialized Hospital for Pulmonary Diseases “Jasenovo.”
The artworks were presented to Jasmina Mateva, Director of the Specialized Hospital “Jasenovo,” and Zoran Arsovski PhD, Director of the General Hospital Veles, who expressed their gratitude on behalf of the public healthcare institutions. Angel Korunovski, Director of the National Museum Veles, also attended the event.
Demonstrating that art and education are powerful tools for creating positive changes in society, prof. Gjorcev PhD, through this act, showcased his commitment to supporting the local community. He also highlighted the importance of optimism in the healing process, hoping it will significantly enhance the overall well-being of both patients and staff. This donation also reflects the contributions of the International Slavic University towards social responsibility.
The artworks will be installed in the two public healthcare institutions starting Thursday, April 11. Valued at over 10,000 euros, the value of these artworks speaks to the selflessness and desire to contribute to improving the living standards in our community.
