Transfer
of Students

International Slavic University allows the transfer of students from other universities to ISU. Transfers between faculties within ISU are also permitted.

The transfer application is announced twice a year:

  • Before the start of the fall semester
  • Before the start of the spring semester

All students from other faculties in the Republic of North Macedonia and abroad are eligible for transfer. Candidates are admitted without taking an entrance exam.

How to
Transfer

Before transferring, you need to submit a Transcript of Records from your previous faculty. The dean will review the transcript and inform you how many of your previously passed exams can be recognized.

Based on the number of exams you have passed and how closely your previous program matches ours, it will be determined which subjects are recognized and which year of study you will be enrolled in.

For example, if you are enrolled directly into the second year, there may be exams from our first-year program that you will need to complete (differential exams). You can take these exams during any of our exam sessions (regular and additional) in the specified academic year. An additional fee of 3000 denars (one-time) is charged for taking exams from previous study years. If you do not pass on the first attempt, you do not pay again but retain the right to retake the exam two more times. The student is required to pass the specified subjects before the start of the next academic year, that is, by October 1 of the following academic year.

How many ECTS credits
are required for transfer?

Based on the number of exams you have passed and how closely your previous program matches ours, it will be determined which courses are recognized and which year of study you will be enrolled in.

  • If there are compatible courses with 30 ECTS credits or less in an ISU study program, the student can transfer to the first year of the first cycle of studies.
  • If there are compatible courses with at least 31 ECTS credits in an ISU study program, the student can transfer to the second year of the first cycle of studies.
  • If there are compatible courses with at least 62 ECTS credits in an ISU study program, the student can transfer to the third year of the first cycle of studies.
  • If there are compatible courses with at least 93 ECTS credits in an ISU study program, the student can transfer to the fourth year of the first cycle of studies.

Tuition fees
for transfer students

For all students, the tuition fee is the same, so the same rules apply to students transferring from other universities. The tuition fee is the same for both regular and part-time students.

Therefore, you only pay tuition for the years you will study. If you enroll in the second year, you only pay for the second year and then for the third and fourth years as your studies progress.

We offer installment payment options and discounts for paying the full tuition fee before the start of the academic year. The same benefits that apply to other students also apply to transfer students. For additional discounts and benefits, please check the tuition or scholarships page.

Part-time
or full-time student?

Candidates can be enrolled as full-time or part-time students, self-financing their studies.

Full-time students are required to attend classes, while part-time students are only required to come for exams. Part-time students are usually employed individuals who do not have the time to attend all lectures.

To enroll as a part-time student, the individual must provide proof of employment or a medical certificate confirming that they are unable to attend classes.

Both full-time and part-time students study with equal financial responsibility, meaning the tuition fee is the same.
