Transfer

The International Slavic University allows transfer of students from other universities at ISU. Transfer within the faculties at ISU is also allowed.

The calls for transfer are announced twice a year:

  • at the beginning of the winter semester
  • at the beginning of the spring semester

All students from other universities from the Republic of North Macedonia and abroad are allowed to transfer. The candidates are enrolled without an entrance exam.

How does the process of transferring work?

Before the transfer you need to submit academic transcripts from the previous faculty. Afterwards, the Dean will review the academic transcript and compares your previous study programme to the study programme you want to enroll in. After the academic transcript is reviewed, you will be informed how many of the courses you had will be automatically recognized in the study programme you want to enroll in.

Depending on the number of courses and the final exams you have passed, the Dean gives a report on which courses will be accepted and which year of the study programme you will be enrolled in.

Hypothetically, if you enroll in second year of the study programme, there will be probably courses from the study programme that you will have to take from the first year.

You can take the final exams of these courses in one of our six final exam sessions.

The final exams that you have to take from the previous year are paid MKD 3000 each (one-time payment). Provided you don’t pass the final exam the first time, you don’t have to pay the fee again, which means, you can still take the final exam in the following session.

Tuition fee

The tuition fee is equal for all students, therefore the students that transfer from other universities pay the same price the other students.

This means that you pay the tuition fee only for the years you will study. If with the transfer you are allowed to enroll in the second year of the study programme, you will have to pay the tuition fee only for the second year and the following years.

Full-time or part-time student?

The full-time students are obliged to attend classes, while the part-time students have an obligation to attend only the final exams. The full time students are allowed to be absent from the classes, although that reduces the number of points for attendance in the assessment process. The students can get a maximum of 10 points from attendance, and by being absent from classes that number decreases.

They have the right to take two midterm exams instead of one final exam, and they might be required to prepare a term paper or a similar kind of a research paper.

Part-time students are mostly the students who work and don’t have time to attend classes. They can still attend the classes if they choose to do so. Part-time students must submit a certificate that they are employed or a medical note that explains the reason why they are not able to attend classes.

Part-time students have more independent work and research, they prepare term papers and researches, as recommended by the course professor. They have no right to take midterm exams, which means they can only take the final exams in one of the final exam sessions.

Both the full-time and part-time students pay the same the tuition fee.
