Dear Readers,
We are pleased to present an interview with Milena Panevska, a member of the Alumni Club at ISU, who lives in Norway and works as an accountant with a degree from ISU. We hope you enjoy reading the interview.
I finished my elementary and highs school in my hometown Sveti Nikole, and I also decided to continue my higher education here and therefore I decided to study at ISU “Gavrilo Romanovich Derzhavin”.
I studied at the Faculty of Economic, at the department of Organizational Management and I completed my studies with a grade point average of 9.69.
Before I enrolled at this university I was well informed about the studies and the opportunities offered by this university. Throughout my studies I was in constant contact with the professors who followed my process of studying. It is about professionals, responsible professors who want, who know and who are capable of sharing their knowledge and experience. Consistent exercises as well as assignments have helped me to gain not only theoretical but also practical knowledge. Compulsory internship is just a confirmation that this university cares for the students and wants to help them by having a number of partnership agreements with companies around the country. The immense knowledge that I gained at this university is currently being used in the Kingdom of Norway.
Currently I am living and working in the Kingdom of Norway. I’ve been living here for 3.5 years, and for 2.5 years I’ve been doing what I love and what I studiedfor. The positive thing is that all courses that I took at ISU have been recognized and I received 100% validation of my degree. I work as an accountant in the accounting office Imente Juss & Regnskap AS in Oslo. Here I have just proved that no matter where I come from, quality and knowledge / education come first. Studying two foreign languages - Russian and English during my studies has helped me to keep in touch with clients from different countries. I am responsible for about 60 companies / organizations, payroll, accounting cycle, responsible for one segment of IT, customer contact, reporting to the state etc.
Currently I am studying at the Master Studies Program at the Faculty of Safety Engineering, at the department Occupational Safety (Safety at Work) at ISU “Gavrilo Romanovich Derzhavin”, which is also recognized, valued and awarded. These studies will open doors to a wider range of jobs due to the fact that construction is expanding across the Kingdom of Norway and it is giving me professional security.
In the short term, I plan to enroll for additional studies here in Norway to obtain Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license, and I miss only three courses, as all subjects from the curriculum in Macedonia are scored with maximum points. These are the subjects that cover Norwegian laws, rules and regulations.
Finally, I would like to wish all future studentsgood luck, and to tell them that one important thing they can do for themselves is to make the right decision and enroll at the university that really thinks of the students. Choose the right one, select the International Slavic University.
