In the period from 24 August to 29 August, a delegation from the International Slavic University “G. R. Derzhavin “takes part in several events organized by Matica slovenská, Slovakia.
Our cooperation is a result from realizing the Jubilee Conference in May 2017, and we were invited by the President of the Supervisory Board of Mlada Matica, PhD Peter Schwantner, with the support of the Vice President of Matica Slavenska, Marian Gesper.
Several cities in eastern Slovakia, including Preshov and Kosice, were visited. Part of the program which was dedicated to the Second World War included the presentation of scenes from the war in Hermanovce. The participants picturesquely made military atmosphere dressed as soldiers from Slovakia, Russia and Germany.
Our host is an organization that has 30,000 members and works on projects of education and culture. Its goal is to motivate young people to study history, culture and traditions and help them to be preserved.
The result of the visit was a proposal for cooperation and mutual invitations for cultural and scientific events of national and international character.
