At Mayberry Highway, part of the International Slavic University campus in Sveti Nikole, a solo exhibition by Ivona Velkovska was opened. The exhibition, titled “Illumination, Awareness, Discovery, Liberation…” was inaugurated as part of the diploma awarding ceremony for the students of ISU in Sveti Nikole.
The exhibition was opened by the founder of the International Slavic University, Prof. Jordan Gjorgjev, PhD and the event was moderated by Mitra Mimi Spasova, M.A. in Philological Sciences, and Dragica Soluncheva, Professor of Philosophy.
Ivona Velkovska graduated from the Faculty of Fine Arts at St. Cyril and Methodius University in Skopje in 1999, under the mentorship of Prof. Rubens Korubin. As an art educator and high school teacher, she has participated in numerous national and international projects, exhibitions, and events in the Republic of North Macedonia and abroad. Her works are included in various domestic and international catalogs and private collections.
To date, Ivona Velkovska has held five solo exhibitions. Since 2008, she has been an active member of the Association of Fine Artists of Macedonia (DLUM), and in 2015, she received the miniature art award from NLB at the “MiniArtura” exhibition. She has participated in more than 80 group exhibitions in the Republic of North Macedonia and abroad.
