On 7th June, 2019 on the premises of the International Slavic University “G. R. Derzhavin” in Sveti Nikole, the first session of the Conference of Private Institutions of Higher Education (CPIHE) was held. 11 private institutions of higher education (eight universities and three private higher education institutions) are members of the Conference. The main item of the agenda of that meeting was identifying opportunities for improving the quality of higher education in the Republic of North Macedonia within the Project for skills development and support of innovation, that is implemented by the Ministry of Education and Science.
The Members of the CPIHE made a decision to initiate a re-signing a bilateral agreement between the Republic of North Macedonia and the Republic of Turkey for obtaining an accreditation by the Executive Board of the Higher Education Council of the Republic of Turkey, i.e. YŐK accreditation.
The inadequate treatment of the private institutions of higher education within the framework of the operation of Inter-University Conference with the members of all private universities in the Republic of North Macedonia was discussed at the session. The conclusion for further action of the Conference of Private Institutions of Higher Education (CPIHE) regarding this issue was reached.
