The World Economic Forum has commenced in Davos, and the International Slavic University currently has representatives at several events organized within the forum. The World Economic Forum began on January 15 and will run until January 19, 2024.
MSc. Mihaela Gjorcheva and Ivan Spasev, members of the Management Board of the International Slavic University, participated in the Open Forum Davos, whose theme is “From Lab to Life: Science in Action.” The goal is to discuss science and its impact on every aspect of our lives, technology, and the planet. The Open Forum Davos is hosted by the World Economic Forum, with the first panel focusing on what the global scientific community can do to promote new forms of collaboration in science, thereby accelerating progress.
Before the first panel, the Director of the World Economic Forum in Geneva addressed the attendees. The panel featured participation from several prominent scientists from Harvard University, universities in Brazil, the President of the Swiss Universities organization, and Iliana Ivanova, the European Commissioner for Innovation, Research, Culture, Education, and Youth.
MSc. Mihaela Gjorcheva also attended the event “Women in Leadership: Innovation and Business,” organized by the Indian organization Women Inspiring Network, which comprises over 7,000 women. This is the first digital network of its kind that shares the inspirational stories of successful women.
