The International Slavic University in Bitola also hosted the course titled “English for Higher Education Academics,” organized by Atlas Language School from Dublin, Ireland. The course took place over two days – February 22 and 23, 2024.
Originally intended for lecturers in higher education institutions, the course in Bitola included a unique addition – the presence of students at the lectures, enabling the development of discussions and allowing students to provide direct feedback to lecturers and share their experiences. The students discussed their interests and the challenges they face in the educational process, which contributed to a better understanding of their needs. This interaction not only enriched the discussion but also provided lecturers with direct insight into the effects of their teaching methods.
The course was again led by Paul Finnerty, Erasmus+ coordinator and lecturer from Atlas Language School, who focused on pronunciation and various lecture delivery techniques during the sessions. Special attention was given to the application of artificial intelligence in education and its impact on academic integrity, a topic that sparked significant interest and discussion among participants.
