An exhibition of photographs “Antiquity Through the Centuries” organized by the Club for UNESCO of Piraeus & Islands, Greeceand the Honorary Member of UNESCO, Bondar Irina Alekseevna was opened at the International Slavic University today. The International Slavic University has had a cooperation with the Russian Academy of Arts and UNESCO in the area of setting up art exhibitions of famous artists for several years.
An exhibition of Elena Brezitskaya, a photograph fromPyatigorsk, entitled “Mountain Elegy” was also set up. The aim of the organizers of the exhibition was to convey the beauties of the North Caucasus and the size of the mountains and the nature through the photographs.
The ancient civilizations of the Mediterranean and the Caucasus throughout the history inspired the humanity of creative endeavors. The attitude towards the ancient heritage of Greece and the Caucasus has changed over time, but it has always been relevant and an integral partof the modern culture.
The purpose of the exhibition is to present the influence of the mythology and art of Ancient Greece on the culture of the people of the world, and to present the preserved crafts and cultural monuments of the people in the works of the artists. The cultural heritage has been the subject of people’s admiration and it has been portrayed in different interpretations for a long time.
Photographs of the creative works of the RUSSIAN ACADEMY OF ARTISTS and members of the CREATIVE UNION OF ARTISTS, which were exhibited in Moscow as well as creative works that were part of the Karachay – Cherkess State University “U. D. Aliyev” which was set up in Karachaevsk, Russian Federation were presented at the this exhibition at the International Slavic University .
