On October 7, 2024, the International Slavic University in Sveti Nikole had the honor of hosting a ceremonial academy in celebration of the National Day of the People’s Republic of China and the 30th anniversary of the establishment of the Skopje-Sveti Nikole Macedonian-Chinese Friendship and Cooperation Association.
The event featured an address by the Acting Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to the Republic of North Macedonia, Xu Lei. Official speeches were given by the President of the ISU Board of Directors, Prof. Jordan Gjorchev, PhD, the Mayor of Sveti Nikole, Mr. Dejan Vladev, and the President of the Macedonian-Chinese Friendship and Cooperation Association, Mr. Ljupcho Malenkov.
Following the official segment, a rich cultural program unfolded. The Mandolin Orchestra “Sveti Nikolaj” from Sveti Nikole captivated the audience with their performance, with standout solo appearances by vocalist Marija Atanasova and pianist Ilche Kostadinov. The evening’s beautiful musical performances added to the festive atmosphere, culminating in a cocktail reception and informal gathering.
This event once again reaffirmed the strong friendship and cultural collaboration between the peoples of the two nations.
