Professor Vasko Stamevski, PhD, Rector of International Slavic University, was nominated for the title of Doctor Honoris Causa by the University of Public and Individual Security “Apeiron” in Kraków, Poland.

The nomination recognized his academic achievements, contribution to the development of security studies, academic excellence, and commitment to international cooperation.

The honorary doctorate ceremony was held on May 7, 2026, at the Hilton Garden Inn Kraków as part of the 22nd Security Forum Kraków 2026, which took place from May 7 to 9 in Kraków, Poland.

The forum was organized under the theme “Science Vectors—Current Various Turbulences in the Security Environments of Nations and Their States” and brought together more than 50 experts, theorists, and practitioners in the fields of security and security studies.

During the forum, Professor Stamevski delivered a presentation titled “The Impact of the Middle East Crisis on North Macedonia: Political, Economic, and Security Implications.”

During the visit, Professor Stamevski presented a painting by Professor Jordan Gjorchev, PhD, President of the Management Board of International Slavic University, to the forum’s organizer and Rector, Professor Juliusz Piwowarski, PhD.

The forum addressed current issues related to modern security challenges, turbulence within national security environments, and the role of scientific research in analyzing and understanding security processes.

University professors, researchers, theorists, and practitioners from several countries participated in the event and discussed various aspects of security studies, international cooperation, and contemporary global challenges.

The Senate of the University of Public and Individual Security “Apeiron” in Kraków announced the nomination for the title of Doctor Honoris Causa, recognizing Professor Stamevski among the distinguished academics whose achievements were highlighted during the forum.
