15 May 2026On May 12, 2026, International Slavic University in Sveti Nikole hosted a Parliamentary Caravan organized by the Assembly of the Republic of North Macedonia. The event formed part of a program designed to bring the Assembly’s work closer to citizens and promote its role as an open and transparent institution.
At the beginning of the official program, Professor Nikola Popovski, PhD, an ISU professor and former President of the Assembly of the Republic of North Macedonia, welcomed the participants on behalf of the host institution. He emphasized the importance of direct communication between institutions and young people, as well as the value of active student participation in democratic processes.
Members of Parliament Daniela Hristova, Blagica Lasovska, Igor Zdravkovski, Ljupcho Nikolovski, and Sanja Lukarevska also addressed the attendees.
The event was attended by students, assistants from parliamentary constituency offices, employees of the Assembly, and representatives of partner civil society organizations. Open discussions addressed the functioning of the legislative branch, the role of the Assembly in a democratic society, and the importance of young people’s active participation in social and democratic processes.
Students had the opportunity to learn firsthand about the Assembly’s work, ask questions, and exchange views with the attending representatives, gaining new knowledge and insight into parliamentary processes and institutional operations.
The event provided a valuable opportunity to encourage young people to become better informed, participate more actively, and develop a deeper understanding of the country’s democratic processes.
