Mihaela Gjorcheva, Vice-President of the Management Board at International Slavic University and founder of Kinoverzum, participated in the prestigious Nest Climate Campus, held in New York as part of the global initiative Climate Week NYC 2025. This event represents the largest climate-focused platform in the United States, dedicated to innovative solutions, a sustainable economy, and collective efforts toward climate action.

During her attendance at Nest Climate Campus, Mihaela Gjorcheva took part in multiple sessions featuring high-level speakers, including executives from Toyota and IKEA, and joined a key roundtable discussion organized by Ceres on September 24, titled “Championing Businesses’ Freedom to Act on Climate Risk.” The session served as a platform to exchange perspectives on the responsibility and freedom of the business sector to proactively address climate risks and contribute to building a more resilient and cleaner economy.

As part of her visit, Mihaela Gjorcheva also attended a special event hosted by the Women’s Earth and Climate Action Network (WECAN), focusing on the role of women in global climate transformation, gender equity in decision-making, and the integration of female perspectives in climate policy. The event was held in one of the United Nations buildings in New York.

Through its participation in Nest Climate Campus, Ceres, and WECAN, International Slavic University continues to expand its presence on the international stage and contribute meaningfully to conversations around sustainable development and the transformation of education in line with global challenges.
