Erasmus+ Mobility: Administrative Staff from Fatih Sultan Mehmet Vakif University – Istanbul at ISU
11 June 2024Today, as part of the Jean Monnet Modules project at the International Slavic University, a competitive debate was held in the main hall at Mayberry Highway in Sveti Nikole, focusing on topics related to civil and political rights. This event took place on the first day of a total of 20 days of lectures that will be conducted throughout the year as part of the project.
The event was designed as a dynamic and interactive activity, providing students with the opportunity to apply their knowledge through structured argumentation, advocacy of positions, and critical analysis of current human rights issues. Through this approach, participants enhanced their communication skills, legal reasoning, and public speaking abilities.
The activity was conducted under the mentorship of Prof. Marija Grozdanovska, PhD and Prof. Elizabeta Spiroska, PhD who, through the project, actively contribute to the development of students’ practical knowledge and competencies in line with European standards and academic practices.
A welcome address was delivered by Prof. Jordan Gjorchev, PhD President of the Management Board of the International Slavic University, who also attended part of the project activities, expressing support and emphasizing their importance.
As an outcome of this activity, a guide has been produced covering the key aspects of the debate and the topics discussed. The guide is available in both electronic and printed formats, in Macedonian and English, and serves as a valuable resource for further learning and advancement in the field of human rights.
This type of activity is particularly significant as it encourages active student participation, fosters democratic culture, and promotes a deeper understanding of the fundamental principles of civil and political rights. Through direct engagement in debate formats, students acquire skills essential for their academic and professional development.
Through the implementation of Jean Monnet projects, the International Slavic University continuously strengthens its position as an institution offering modern, practice-oriented, and European-focused education. The project is supported by the Erasmus+ programme, further confirming its relevance and importance within European educational initiatives.
The International Slavic University remains committed to creating opportunities for its students, fostering the development of knowledge, critical thinking, and active participation in societal processes.
