COMPETITION
Action 1: Competition for student mobility for studies, student mobility for internships, and mobility for academic or administrative staff in the academic year 2022/2023
Right to Apply
STUDENT MOBILITY
Eligibility criteria include students who
- Are enrolled in at least the third semester of their undergraduate studies or are enrolled in graduate studies;
- Maintain a GPA of 7.0 or higher. In exceptional cases (limited availability and similar circumstances), students with a GPA of 6.5 or above may also apply. For students enrolled in one-year graduate programs, the GPA requirement is not applicable;
- Hold the status of a regular student in the undergraduate program at the International Slavic University (ISU) and have completed a minimum of 60 ECTS credits. There is no minimum credit requirement for students in graduate programs
MOBILITY FOR TEACHING OR ADMINISTRATIVE STAFF
Eligibility criteria for application include:
- Citizenship of the Republic of North Macedonia or registered permanent residence in the Republic of North Macedonia.
- For teaching staff, employment selected for teaching, scientific, or collaborative positions with a contractual relationship at ISU or its units.
- For professional development (administrative and professional staff), employment on a fixed-term or indefinite basis at ISU or its units.
- A minimum of 12 months of work experience at ISU.
- Fulfillment of additional requirements as requested by ISU.
ERASMUS+ STUDENT INTERNSHIP
Employees who:
- Are enrolled as regular students in the first cycle of studies at ISU and have completed the first year.
- Have a GPA of 7.0 or higher. In exceptional cases (unfilled positions, etc.), students with a GPA equal to or above 6.5 may apply.

STUDENT MOBILITY
- Mobility is realized within the framework of signed interinstitutional Erasmus+ agreements between ISU and universities from partner countries.
- Duration of mobility: one semester.
- The amount of the monthly scholarship depends on the country where the student will stay and the type of mobility.
- Students cover travel expenses, health insurance, and accommodation at the host institution with the scholarship received through the Erasmus+ program.
MOBILITY OF ACADEMIC OR ADMINISTRATIVE STAFF
- Mobility is conducted under signed interinstitutional Erasmus+ agreements between ISU and partner universities.
- Duration ranges from 2 days to 2 months (excluding travel days).
- The grant amount (per day) varies based on the host country.
- Employees cover travel expenses, health insurance, and accommodation at the host institution using the grant provided through the Erasmus+ program.
ERASMUS+ STUDENT INTERSHIP
- Mobility is facilitated through signed interinstitutional Erasmus+ agreements between ISU and partner universities.
- The duration of mobility depends on the type, which can be either Long term mobility or Blended mobility.
- The scholarship amount varies based on the country where the student will stay and the type of mobility.
- Students are responsible for covering travel expenses, health insurance, and accommodation at the host institution using the scholarship received through the Erasmus+ program.
Criteria for the selection of students for mobility
STUDENT MOBILITY
Selection criteria for Erasmus+ mobility program are designed to ensure fairness and transparency. Each application undergoes evaluation by a committee, with a maximum score of 100 points distributed across various categories:
- Grade Point Average (GPA): Students receive up to 40 points based on their GPA, with different score ranges corresponding to different GPA brackets.
- Motivation Letter: Applicants can earn up to 15 points based on the quality and persuasiveness of their motivation letter.
- Language Proficiency: Proficiency in foreign languages is rewarded with up to 15 points, with a maximum of 5 points allocated for each language, and a maximum of 3 languages considered.
- Recommendation Letters: Professors’ recommendations contribute up to 10 points, with a maximum of 5 points per recommendation and a maximum of 2 recommendations considered.
- Previous Engagement: Involvement in university activities or student associations can earn applicants up to 10 points, with 5 points allocated for each activity and a maximum of 2 activities considered.
- Certificates, Awards, Acknowledgments: Achievements such as certificates, awards, or acknowledgments are worth up to 10 points, with 2 points assigned to each, and a maximum of 5 items considered.
In case of a tie, preference is given to candidates applying for the first time and who have not previously received an Erasmus+ scholarship.
MOBILITY FOR ACADEMIC OR ADMINISTRATIVE STAFF
The users for mobility are selected through a fair and transparent process. The competition and selection of candidates are conducted and administered by the Office for International Relations at ISU.
Each received application must be evaluated and scored. The maximum number of points is 100.
If the selection criteria are not defined differently by the rules of the program or bilateral agreements, the Commission makes the selection according to the following criteria:
- Justification of the proposed program, alignment with the Strategy for the Development and Internationalization of ISU – 45 points. Motivational letter – 10 points.
- Relevance of mobility for career advancement – 5 points.
- Proficiency in foreign languages – 15 points (5 points for each language, maximum 3 languages).
- Recommendation from colleague and/or sector supervisor – 10 points (5 points for each recommendation, maximum 2 recommendations).
- Previous experience in ISU activities – 10 points (5 points for each activity, maximum 2 activities). Previous number of realized mobilities, with candidates who have not previously participated in a mobility program receiving the highest number of points (5 points).
ERASMUS+ STUDENT INTERNSHIP
Applicants for the Erasmus+ mobility program are selected through a fair and transparent process. Each submitted application is evaluated by a committee responsible for selecting mobility users. The maximum number of points is 100.
- Grade Point Average (GPA) – 40 points (6.5 to 7.0: 5 to 10 points; 7.1 to 8.0: 11 to 20 points; 8.1 to 9.0: 21 to 30 points; 9.1 to 10.0: 31 to 40 points), where each point corresponds to a grade of 0.1.
- Motivational Letter – 15 points.
- Language Proficiency – 15 points (5 points each for a maximum of 3 languages).
- Recommendation from a Professor – 10 points (5 points each for a maximum of 2 recommendations).
- Previous Experience in ISU Activities or Student Associations – 10 points (5 points each for a maximum of 2 activities).
- Certificates, Awards, Commendations – 10 points (2 points each for a maximum of 5).
In case of equal scores, priority will be given to candidates who are applying for the first time and have not previously utilized an Erasmus+ scholarship.

- Certificate of completed exams at the university
- Certificate of regular student status from the Student Affairs Office

MOBILITY OF TEACHING OR ADMINISTRATIVE STAFF
The essential documents for recognizing and implementing mobility are:
- Application (Staff Application Form)
- Brief Biography in English in Europass format
- Teaching Plan (only for teaching mobility), approved by the partner institution and consisting of up to two pages where the candidate describes the focus, methodology, and timeline for the mobility, or Work Plan (for training mobility), containing the activity plan, expected outcomes, and the impact of the stay on future activities at the home institution.
- Invitation Letter from the partner institution
- Teaching Agreement or Training Agreement
ERASMUS+ STUDENT INTERSHIP
The minimum documents required for the internship are:
- Application Form
- Traineeship Agreement
- Europass CV
- Transcript of Records from ISU
- Certificate of Enrollment from the Student Affairs Office at ISU

Application
STUDENT MOBILITY AND ERASMUS+ STUDENT INTERNSHIP
- Candidates select a partner university where they would like to study. This is the list of universities with which ISU has signed interinstitutional agreements. If ISU does not have an interinstitutional agreement with the university where the student wants to spend the mobility period, ISU can initiate the signing of such an agreement.
Candidates submit their applications electronically by sending the completed forms to the following email address: erasmus@msu.edu.mk
If selected, candidates’ status is transformed into mobility users, and together with the Erasmus+ coordinator, they choose appropriate subjects that the student should attend at the host institution.
