Today in the premises of the International Slavic University “G. R. Derzhavin “in Bitola, poet Jovan Strezovski, received the” Derzhavin “award, which is awarded for the best poetry collection published in the period from July 2015 to July this year.
Strezovski received the award for the poetry book “Temporarily and permanently”.
The award decision, which is given by the Writers’ Association of Macedonia and ISU, was decided by the commission consisting of: Ivan Chapovski (President), Stojan Tarupuza and Paskal Gilevski.
The commission evaluates that the latest poetic achievement of Jovan Strezovski is characterized by high aesthetic achievements that are built into the treasury of the permanent values of Macedonian literature.
The doyen of the Macedonian Writers’ Association Jovan Strezovski marked this year’s 85th anniversary jubilee and 60 years of creative activity. As a poet, short story writer, novelist and writer for children, he created about forty works.
He was a longtime director of the Struga’s Poetry Evenings and President of the Assembly of the Macedonian Writers’ Association.
