On December 18, 2013, in the premises of the International Slavic University in Bitola, a public tribune was held on the topic “Impact of Pollution in Bitola”. The forum was organized by the Youth Forum and SEGA Youth Coalition.
This topic is currently in the center of the attention of the Macedonian public, since recently, the level of pollution in several Macedonian cities, including our capital, is well above the permissible limits.
Doctors claim that pollution can lead to serious consequences for human health and that it should be approached as a serious problem. “The polluted air enters the airways and damages the lungs. Pulmonary carcinoma is at a very high level “- said Dr. Renata Radenkov, radiotherapy specialist – Oncology.
“There are many cancer patients in our country and the male sex is most affected. If taken weekly, every week in the Oncology Department there are at least two patients with lung cancer, “said Dr. Renata Radenkov.
