On July 21 and 22, 2026, the Rector of International Slavic University, Prof. Dr. Vasko Stamevski, visited Athens, Republic of Greece, at the invitation of the Research Institute for European and American Studies (RIEAS).

As part of the visit, during a formal ceremony, Rector Stamevski awarded Prof. Dr. John Nomikos the honorary title of Professor Honoris Causa in recognition of his significant contribution to the development of higher education, science, and international academic cooperation.

During the visit, a Memorandum of Cooperation was also signed with Dimitris Agouridis, Director of the Canadian company INTUS SmartCities, with the aim of establishing a branch of CUTI (Connected Utilities & Training in Infrastructure).

This initiative represents an important step toward the development of joint research and innovation projects, particularly in the fields of urban mobility, infrastructure, and the application of modern technologies.

The new cooperation opens opportunities for the exchange of knowledge and expertise, the implementation of joint projects, and the strengthening of links between the academic and business sectors at the international level.

Through these activities, International Slavic University once again confirms its commitment to internationalization, strengthening international partnerships, and creating new opportunities for students, academic staff, and the development of research activities.
