The poet Jovan Strezovski is the winner of the “Derzhavin” award, which is given for the best poetry collection published in the period from July 2015 to July this year. Strezovski received the award for the poetry book “Времено и трајно”, published in the edition of “Матица македонска”.

The decision for the award, given by the Writers Association of Macedonia and the Slavic University “Gavrilo Romanovich Derzhavin” from Sveti Nikole, was unanimously said by the commission consisting of: Ivan Chapovski (President), Stoyan Tarapuza and Paskal Gilevski.

The commission,  considers that the latest poetic achievement of Jovan Strezovski is distinguished by high aesthetic achievements that are built into the treasury of the permanent values of Macedonian literature.

The “Времено и трајно” Storybook is an expression of the rich creative experience of Jovan Strezovski through which the simplicity of speaking  of the poetic messages and meanings is being preserved, according to the decision for awarding the “Derzhavin” .

The special delivery of the “Derzhavin” award by Jovan Strezovski will be held on October 12, organized by the Slavic University “Gavrilo Romanovich Derzhavin”,

 Jovan Strezovski marked this year’s 85th anniversary jubilee and 60 years of creative activity, as a poet, short story writer, novelist and writer for children, . He was a longtime director of the Struga’s Poetry Evenings and President of the Assembly of the Macedonian Writers’ Association.
