Yesterday in Bitola, in the amphitheater of the International Slavic University, the poet Prize “Derzhavin” was was ceremoniously given to the poet Vasile Dimeski from Prilep . The award was assigned by N. E. Oleg Shcherbak, Ambassador of the Russian Federation in the Republic of Macedonia
Namely, the Derzhavin Prize is awarded for the best poetry collection published in the period from July 2016 to July this year exclusively for members of the Writers’ Association of the Republic of Macedonia, and this year in the selection committee were: Ivan Chapovski (President), Stojan Tarapuza and Paskal Gilevski, who unanimously made the decision.
Dimeski received the high recognition for the poetry book “This Night I’ve eaten my soul”, published in the edition of “Matica Makedonska”.The President of the Association of the Writers’ Republic of Macedonia, Vele Smilevski gave speech to the audience.
The manifestation was artfully enriched by Marina Korunovska – mezzo-soprano and Aleksandra Jankovska – piano accompaniment who performed Russian romances as Natalia Aleshkina-Talevska and Dagan Miladinovski who recited verses from Derzhavin and Dimeski.
