Competition – 2017
This year, together with the Writers’ Association of Macedonia, we announce the competition for the “Derzhavin” prize for a poetic book that with its specific and aesthetic values is successfully embedded in the new development processes of Macedonian literature.
The award, which is named after Gavrilo Romanovich Derzhavin, was established last year with a monetary donation from the International Slavic University „G.R.Derzhavin“, on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the formation of the DPM. The first winner of this award was the poet Jovan Strezovski.
The Derzhavin Award is awarded every year for the new poetic achievements of members of the Macedonian Writers’ Association published in the last 12 months, as of August. Publishers or authors who apply for the award, should submit their books to the DPM in four copies, latest by September 5th.
The decision for the award will be made by a three-member jury consisting of prominent critics, essayists and poets. The official assignment of the recognition will take place in early October at the ISU. The poet’s caravan of the Macedonian Writers’ Association will take part on the ceremony with the participation of 20 poets from different generations.
