FIRST INTERNATIONAL PHILOSOPHICAL DIALOGUE SISTER-WEST – SYMPOSIUM ON SCIENCE AND RELIGION THEMES, held in Skopje, Sveti Nikole and Ohrid from September 2 to 4, with the participation of prominent philosophers from Russia, Great Britain, Serbia, Croatia, BiH, Greece, Albania and Macedonia.
International Philosophical Dialogue “East – West” on the topic “Science and Religion” is being held for the first time from September 2 to 4 in Skopje, Sveti Nikole and Ohrid. The conference was attended by prominent scientists and philosophers from Russia, Great Britain, Serbia, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Greece, Albania and Macedonia, and the event is organized by the Macedonian Academy of Sciences and Arts, International Slavic University “Gavrilo Romanovich Derzhavin” – Sveti Nikole and the Philosophical Society of Macedonia. The second working session started with the speech of the rector of the International Slavic University “Gavrilo Romanovich Derzhavin”, professor dr Dushan Nikolovski:
“Complex questions about the relationship of science and religion deserve special attention in today’s conditions, when a person asks daily about the meaning of one’s own existence and the nature of things.”
At the second session, their speeches had: Igor Evlampiev, professor at the Faculty of History of Russian Philosophy at the University of St. Petersburg, Maria Selak – Professor at the Faculty of Philosophy at the University of Zagreb, Mikolay Slavkovski – lecturer at the Department of Philosophy at the University of Oxford, Risto Solunchev – professor at the Faculty of Philosophy at the University “St. Cyril and Methodius “- Skopje, and other participants who with their scientific views reach the practical philosophical issues that affect every modern person.
The symposium continues tomorrow in Ohrid, and is expected to end with the signing of the Declaration of Peace that will be handed over to UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-mun, hoping that it will be transferred to all United Nations member states
