International Slavic University Students Visit the National Bank of the Republic of North Macedonia
22 December 2025On December 20, 2025, the final event in the “Days of Psychology” series, organized by International Slavic University, was successfully held in the warm and inspiring atmosphere of Kinoversum. The event focused on the topic “Between Emotions and Ethics: Challenges in the Psychologist’s Workplace.”
The event attracted considerable interest and was attended by numerous students, faculty members, and experts in psychology and related professions. The program began with a panel discussion that raised important questions about the emotional challenges and ethical dilemmas psychologists encounter in their daily professional practice. Particular emphasis was placed on complex situations involving boundaries in interpersonal relationships and managing personal reactions in a professional context.

The panel discussion featured distinguished experts in the field:
- Ana Chuchkova – Professor at the Faculty of Psychology at International Slavic University
- Atanas Kirjakovski – Professor at the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences at MBU
- Miroslav Pendaroski – Professor and European-certified Gestalt therapist
- Eleonora Serafimovska – Researcher and co-founder of the Psychological Laboratory
- Moderator: Iskra Postolova

The discussion explored how psychologists manage the emotional demands of their profession while upholding the ethical principles that define their work. Participants examined situations in which personal reactions, empathy, and the psychologist’s human side may conflict with the need for professional distance and objectivity.
The event created a valuable space for in-depth analysis, critical reflection, and the exchange of experiences regarding the ways emotions and ethics intersect in the everyday practice of today’s psychologists.
