
UNESCO, Paris: International Slavic University Among Leading Global Universities at Artificial Intelligence Conference
24 February 2026International Slavic University was part of the celebration marking a significant jubilee – 80 years since the establishment of the School of Economics and Business at the University of Ljubljana, one of the most renowned academic centers for economics and business in the region.
At the ceremonial academy in Ljubljana, representatives of International Slavic University were present: Mihaela Gjorgcheva, Deputy President of the Management Board, Ivan Spasev, Member of the Management Board, and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Martin Gjorgiev, Secretary General. Within the framework of the event, they held several meetings, including with Prof. Dr. Metka Tekavčič, former Dean of the School of Economics and Business at the University of Ljubljana, as well as Branko Azeski, President of the Economic Chamber of North Macedonia.








The ceremonial academy was enriched with addresses by high state and academic representatives, including the President of the Republic of Slovenia, Dr. Nataša Pirc Musar, the Dean of the School of Economics and Business at the University of Ljubljana, Prof. Dr. Tomaž Turk, as well as the Rector of the University of Ljubljana, Prof. Dr. Gregor Majdič. As part of the program, and in honor of International Women’s Day, an inspiring event dedicated to the role of women in business was also organized, highlighting the importance of leadership, inclusiveness, and equal opportunities in contemporary society.
With its presence at this significant jubilee, International Slavic University once again confirms its commitment to building and strengthening international academic cooperation, as well as to active participation in regional academic and economic initiatives.
