On 28th March and 29th March 2019, round table on topic “China- Romania- Serbia – North Macedonia- Greece (academic-scientific cooperation on the Silk Road) was held in Club of Parliamentarians in Belgrade, Republic of Serbia. Also, Professor Vasko Stamevski, PhD, the President of the University Senate of the International Slavic University “G. R. Derzhavin” in Sveti Nikole and Bitola was invited at the Round Table.
The organizer of this significant scientific meeting was the Institute for National and International Security (INIS) in Belgrade. The focus of the event was the promotion of Universities of states that are located on the Silk Road (the project: “One Belt, One Road” of the People’s Republic of China), in order to find out methods to establish mutual cooperation, both academically and scientifically.
The President of the University Senate of the International Slavic University and a member of the Institute for National and International Security (INIS) in Belgrade, Professor Vasko Stamevski, PhD had a presentation in which, besides the promotion of the university, the possible opportunities for cooperation between ISU and the other universities were emphasized. The representatives of other universities, with representatives of the highest management bodieswere present at the meeting.
At the round table, opened by Mr. Mladen Šarčević, Minister of Education, Science and Technological Development of the Republic of Serbia, the following professors participated:
-Professor Mariel Gabriel Pirtea, PhD, Rector of the West University ofTimisoara and VicePresident of the Parliament of Romania.
-Professor Zoran Dragišić, PhD, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Security Studies, University of Belgrade and Member of Parliament of the Republic of Serbia.
-Professor, Xu Mingqi, PhD, a Director of European Studies Centre at Shanghai Academy of Social Sciences, Co-Director of the Centre for World Economy Studies at Shanghai Institute for International Studies. He is a Vice-Chairman of Shanghai Institute for European Studies and Executive Director of Shanghai Research Center for International Finance.

-Professor Darko Trifunović, PhD, Director of the Institute for National and International Security, Belgrade, Republic of Serbia.

As a part of the event, Professor Xu Mingqi, PhD, aDirector of European Studies at Shanghai Academy of Social Sciences at the People’s Republic of China was given two Risk Assessment Studies about the Republic of Serbia and the Republic of North Macedonia, made by Professor Darko Trufunović, PhD and Professor Vasko Stamevski, PhD, regarding the project: One Belt, One Road and the 16 + 1 Initiative.
Professor Stamevski also had a working meeting in person with Professor Xu Mingqui, PhD, regarding the furthermutual scientific cooperation (preparation of studies, assessments, projects and research) between the International Slavic University “G. R. Derzhavin” and the European Studies Centre at Shanghai Academy of Social Sciences at the People’s Republic of China, as well as the realization of mutual visits between the two universities and the exchange of academic staff. He, also, had a meeting with the Rector of the West University of Timisoara for the purpose of future perspective of academic cooperation.
