The waste management program is aligned with modern trends and the current trends of the profession in the relevant field within the European Higher Education Area (EHEA). The aim of the study program is to offer the students the latest knowledge in the relevant field and to train them to successfully apply scientific and professional achievements in the field of engineering.

Regarding the teaching process, there are several forms and methods of lectures: interactive classes, laboratory and practical classes, internships, field classes and research papers.



In this study program, students are first introduced to the legal base for waste management, which refers to the protection of the general rights of workers and the protection of rights in the working process, and they also acquire knowledge in the field of organization of waste management. Also, students learn about harmful agents in the environment that affect human health, the mechanisms of their action and strategies in the struggle against their harmful effects.

Furthermore, the program includes the acquisition of knowledge about the basic laws of thermodynamic processes in order to protect the working and living environment, the adoption of knowledge about the processes of the development of technical systems as well as technical systems for the protection of workers, material goods and occupational safety and health including the environment.

The duration of the studies is three years, and the load of the courses is 180 ECTS.

Within the framework of the three-year studies, 24 courses are included and they should be passed by the students. There are 3 compulsory courses and 2 optional courses in each semester. Students are obliged to choose 1 of the 2 optional courses. From the possible 2 optional courses, students are obliged to choose only 1.

Upon completion of the studies, you will acquire the professional title of Waste Management Engineer.

Enrollment requirements


Students who have completed four-year secondary education in the country or abroad and have passed the high school state or international exam are entitled to enroll in the first cycle of studies.

Students from other accredited faculties, graduates, and foreign citizens are also entitled to enroll (regulated by law).

Students are enrolled without taking an entrance exam.

Tuition fees


Candidates can enroll as full-time or part-time students. The tuition fee per year for international students is EUR 2430. International students pay the whole amount of the yearly tuition fee at the beginning of the academic year.
