International Slavic University Signs Cooperation Agreements with the Trade Union of Workers in Hospitality, Tourism, Public Utilities and Housing Services, Crafts and Protective Companies of the Republic of North Macedonia and the Trade Union Organization of the Independent Trade Union – Skopje
22 August 2026Mihaela Gjorcheva, Vice President of the Management Board of the International Slavic University, participated as a speaker at WIN Lounge @ Climate Week NYC 2026. The event, organized by Women Inspiring Network during the 81st United Nations General Assembly (UNGA81), took place on September 22 at the offices of the law firm Polsinelli in New York City.
On the panel “Climate + Capital: Financing the Transition to a Sustainable Future,” Gjorcheva spoke about the role of educational institutions in climate action. She shared examples and perspectives from the work of ISU, emphasizing the importance of education as a bridge between science, innovation, business, and society.
The panel also featured Peter Fusaro, author and founder of the Wall Street Green Summit, as well as Peter Thurlow, a partner at Polsinelli and an expert in intellectual property and patents.
During WIN Lounge, Gjorcheva also met with Dilip Chauhan from the New York City Mayor’s Office, whose work focuses on creating opportunities for businesses owned by women and members of minority communities.
The program opened with a keynote address by Princess Jahnavi Kumari Mewar. Together with Chauhan, she introduced WIN Connect, a new platform designed to connect the global Women Inspiring Network community.
Among the speakers was also Henk Rogers, an entrepreneur known for his role in the global success of Tetris and now the founder of Blue Planet Alliance, where he advocates for the transition to renewable energy.
Through its participation in Climate Week NYC, ISU presented its perspective on an international platform and contributed to the broader discussion on the role of education in building a more sustainable future.
