On May 19, 2026, the 17th Traditional Cross-Country Race, organized by the Firefighting Association of the City of Skopje, was held along the running trail beside the Vardar River. The event brought together numerous elementary school students from across Skopje, who filled the course with energy and competitive enthusiasm while demonstrating athleticism, discipline, and team spirit.

In a dynamic and positive atmosphere, the young competitors demonstrated their fitness, endurance, and sportsmanship. The top participants received awards for first, second, and third place, while the first-place winners were also presented with trophies.

International Slavic University participated as a supporter and sponsor of this important sporting event, which promotes healthy living, physical activity, and positive values among younger generations.

The event was attended by Petar Plotnikov, President of the Firefighting Association of the City of Skopje; Stavre Stankovski, President of the Municipal Firefighting Association of Aerodrom; as well as Management Board members and presidents of municipal firefighting associations from across Skopje. Their presence provided additional support for the event.

This year’s race once again emphasized the importance of sports, an active lifestyle, and developing positive habits among young people. The event brought together students, institutions, and the wider community around shared values such as discipline, dedication, and unity.
