The contemporary world is characterized by rapid political change, global economic developments, security challenges, migration, international conflicts, and an increasing level of interconnectedness among states and institutions. As a result, there is a growing need for professionals who understand international processes, are able to analyze them critically, and can communicate and operate effectively in complex international environments.
The International Relations and Diplomacy study program is a one-year second-cycle program worth 60 ECTS credits, designed to provide students with advanced theoretical knowledge and practical competencies in the fields of international relations, diplomacy, international law, security studies, and the global economy.
During their studies, students explore the functioning of contemporary international relations, the role of states and international organizations, diplomatic mechanisms, political systems, human rights, and economic diplomacy. Particular emphasis is placed on developing analytical and critical thinking, the ability to assess complex political and international situations, as well as the communication and negotiation skills required for professional engagement in diplomacy and international affairs.
The program is not focused solely on the acquisition of academic knowledge. Its aim is to enable students to apply that knowledge in the analysis of real-world international issues, the development of well-founded positions, negotiation processes, research, and informed decision-making.
Master's degree
The program is intended for graduates who wish to gain a deeper understanding of international politics, diplomacy, and global processes, as well as for those who see their professional future in institutions and organizations operating in an international context.
It can serve as a natural continuation of previous studies for students who wish to specialize in international relations, while also providing an opportunity for professionals who want to further develop their knowledge of diplomacy, international law, political analysis, and the functioning of international institutions.
The program is also suitable for individuals who already work, or plan to work, in government institutions, public administration, international organizations, diplomatic and consular missions, non-governmental organizations, research centers, or other organizations where knowledge of international cooperation and global political processes is required.
Upon completion of the program, students earn 60 ECTS credits.
Students select one elective course in each semester.
In addition to successfully completing the required courses, students must prepare and successfully defend a Master’s thesis in order to obtain the required number of credits and complete the study program. Upon successful completion, graduates are awarded the academic title Master of Political Science – International Relations and Diplomacy.
