The Political Studies study program offers systematic and in-depth education in the field of political science and is focused on understanding the political processes, institutions, and relationships that shape contemporary society.
Throughout their studies, students acquire knowledge of the state, political power, democracy, political systems and institutions, political ideas and ideologies, political parties, electoral systems, and international political relations. The program enables students to understand how political governance functions, how decisions are made, and how relationships are established between the state, institutions, civil society, and the international environment.
The study program connects political science with knowledge from law, economics, sociology, and international relations, providing students with a broader perspective for analyzing political and social processes. Particular emphasis is placed on developing analytical and critical thinking, argumentation, academic communication, and the ability to conduct independent research and analysis.
Bachelor's degree
The study program lasts four years (eight semesters) and includes 40 courses, providing 240 ECTS credits upon graduation.
The studies are intended for those who want to gain a deeper understanding of political systems, the functioning of institutions, political processes, and the relationship between the state and society.
They are a suitable choice for students interested in political science, the functioning of public authority, political parties and electoral systems, international political relations, and contemporary social processes, as well as for those who wish to develop skills in critical analysis, research, and reasoned interpretation of political phenomena.
Upon completion of the studies, graduates will have knowledge and competencies applicable in state institutions, public administration, local government, international organizations, diplomatic and consular missions, non-governmental organizations, think tanks, research institutions, and the media sector, as well as in other organizations involved in the analysis of political processes and institutional functioning.

Admission requirements
Candidates eligible for admission to the bachelor’s program include those who have completed a four-year secondary education, whether in their country of residence or abroad, and have successfully passed the national or international matura exam (for countries where it is required).
Our program also welcomes applications from students of other accredited faculties, graduates, and foreign nationals.
We admit candidates without the need for entrance exams, making the application process simpler and more accessible.
Documents for admission
When applying for admission to the bachelor’s program from outside the Republic of North Macedonia, students are required to submit the following documents:
- Diploma/Certificate for completing secondary education (certified with an Apostille or a stamp from the relevant Ministry of Foreign Affairs for countries not members of the Hague Convention);
- Certificates for each completed year of secondary education;
- Decision from the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of North Macedonia recognizing the diploma for completed secondary education (our university offers assistance in obtaining this document);
- Birth Certificate;
- Certificate of Citizenship;
- 4 passport-size color photographs.
The application documents should be submitted to the International Slavic University in Sveti Nikole, at Marshal Tito No. 77, 2220 Sveti Nikole, Republic of North Macedonia.
Tuition fees
For international students, the tuition fee is EUR 2030 per year. International students are required to pay the full amount of the yearly tuition fee at the beginning of the academic year.
