Here you can find the answers to the frequently asked questions about the student mobilities within the Erasmus+ programme.
The selection criteria each year are determined in the Erasmus+ Call for Participants. The most important criterion is the academic achievement, that is, the average of all grades of the student, which must be above 7.0. Exceptionally, applicants with an average grade of less than 7.0 and over 6.5 can apply, but they would be accepted only if there is a place left unfilled. In addition, the criteria are also the quality of the motivation letter and the contribution of the candidate in the activities of the Student’s Association at the International Slavic University “G. R. Derzhavin”. For more precise information please consult the employees at the International Relations Office.
Yes, it is possible to achieve it within the Erasmus + KA107 action. Please consult the team of the International Relations Office for a more detailed explanation.
Yes, it is possible to consider those universities as well. But, the university has to sign an Inter-Institutional Agreement prior to the mobility. If a student wants to pursue mobility at a university with which the International Slavic University has not signed an agreement yet, the student can contact our employees at the International Relations Office, and we will try to sign an Inter-Institutional Contract in order to exercise the mobility at that university. However, there might be various reasons why an Inter-Institutional Agreement cannot be prepared right away, so it is best that the student has that information into consideration.
The financial amount for a mobility within the Erasmus+ programme may vary, but it is usually a sum of 400 to 500 EUR per month in MKD equivalent depending on the cost of living in the host country. Students of low socioeconomic status have the right to apply for additional financial assistance, as well as students with special needs who can obtain additional help for the needs for disability, chronic diseases. The students who go to Erasmus+ mobility for the purpose of practicing professional practice are entitled to additional 100 euros per month. The financial assistance for mobility within the KA107 project (partner countries) is 700 euros + travel expenses.
The payment is made in MKD on the bank account specified in the financing agreement, 80% of the total scholarship before departure and 20% after the return from mobility. If a student needs early payment for certain reasons (buying airfares, paying a bail for a home), he may report to the International Relations Office. The final amount of the financial assistance is determined upon returning when the student has to submit a certificate from the foreign institution with the designated start date and the end of the mobility. In case the student reduces mobility, the total financial support is reduced.
Before going on a mobility, students are obliged to conclude an insurance policy that must cover:
- Health insurance and
- Travel insurance.
The choice of the policy is personal for each student, and a copy of the concluded policy should be attached to the Agreement concluded between the University and the student.
For the grant purpose, the student must provide proof (confirmation or Transcript of record) that at least he listened to the lectures, even if the student did not pass the exam. The student will receive the remaining part of the grant. But on the other hand, in case the student achieves less ECTS credits than those stated in the Learning Agreement, he/she can retake the exams at ISU. That will be regulated by a Decision of the Dean of the Faculty.
If the student does not complete the obligations specified in the Erasmus+ Learning Agreement, the financial means must be returned in part or in full, depending on the situation.
The student can receive financial support for mobility for a total duration of up to 12 months for each level of study (undergraduate, postgraduate), regardless of the number and type of activity (student residence or professional practice).
For the Erasmus+ programme the minimum duration of mobility is two months.
Students from the International Slavic University who are enrolled in at least the second year of undergraduate studies.
The person who graduated may have mobility, but only for professional practice, provided that the mobility ends within one year from the day of completion of the studies and that the application is submitted while the student is still a student. For more information, please contact the team of the International Relations Office.
No. Unless specifically requested by the foreign institution where the student intends to pursue mobility. The Erasmus+ programme offers to students the opportunity to attend a free language course that prepares the student for mobility. OLS is an online platform on which the students can take a language test and can take courses on improving their language skills, in order to get them ready for their mobility. More on online courses can be found here.
The compatibility of the courses is determined by the dean of the faculty before the start of the mobility, that is how we ensure that when the student comes back from their mobility the courses will be recognized at ISU. We are bound to ensure full automatic recognition to the ECTS credits mentioned in the Learning Agreement.
As we are slowly stepping into the new digital era, we make sure to keep up with the latest trends and technologies that Erasmus+ has to offer. ISU implement the principles of the initiative Erasmus Without Paper (EWP), as part of that initiative Erasmus+ has introduced a new online platform Erasmus+ Dashboard where the latest Learning Agreements are made.
The study agreement consists of three parts:
- the first (Before the mobility) that is completed before the mobility and includes a list of students’ courses for those who need to go to mobility, which need to be agreed with the coordinator of the home institution
- the second (During mobility) is filled during the mobility, but only if there is a change in courses or the duration of mobility, and
- the third (After mobility), which is completed at the end of the mobility, and in fact is a Transcript of records and confirmation for the date of mobility. The foreign institutions usually do not issue them as After the mobility part of the agreement but in separate documents.
Study programs are usually found on the website of the respective institutions, and for more information about possible changes in the program, the availability of the desired courses for exchange students and the language of instruction, contact the institutional Erasmus+ coordinators or coordinators of Erasmus+ at the respective faculties and departments. It is best if you do this in consultation with the IRO of our university.
No. It is important that the outcomes of the courses are compatible because the goal of the mobility is to acquire a variety of knowledge and competencies. However, when selecting courses, it is necessary to consult the Erasmus+ coordinator of the home institution, since the home institution makes a final decision and confirms the mobility when the student returns.
Erasmus+ students must complete the final report through the Mobility tool+ (a link is sent via e-mail, after completing the mobility by Erasmus+ MT Platform) and performing an OLS assessment of the mobility language (unless the student has previously reached level C2). It is then necessary to submit to the International Relations Office the part of the Study Agreement concerning the completion of mobility OR a Transcript of record and ECTS credits and a certificate of stay at foreign universities with the exact dates of mobility (unless the dates and grades are not are listed in the After the mobility study agreement). After the documents are given to the IRO office, it will contact the Student Affairs Office and arrange the recognition procedure with the Dean of the faculty.
The continuation of mobility can be requested at least one month before the final agreed date at the end of the mobility by sending a question to the coordinator of the International Slavic University. In case there is a possibility of granting financial assistance to the student, the continuation of mobility will be approved by signing a financing agreement supplement and by amending the Erasmus+ study agreement, which includes the approval of the department of the home institution and the foreign coordinator. In case of lack of funding, the student can, if he wants, remain on mobility for a longer time without the financial support of Erasmus+, a “zero grant” student.
