This study program is no longer active.

Study program: Fire Safety
Faculty: Faculty of Safety Engineering
Degree: Bachelor’s degree / undergraduate / first cycle
Location: Sveti Nikole or Bitola, Republic of North Macedonia
Student status: full-time or part-time
Duration of study:  3 years (6 semesters)
Total number of courses: 24
ECTS: 180
Awarded degree: Bachelor of Safety Engineering
Tuition fee per year: EUR 1230

Fire safety concerns protection in case of fire, tools and appliances for safely extinguishing, tactics for intervention and rescue, and above all preventing its occurrence. The study program is in duration of three years and the volume is 180 ECTS.

The main goal of the Fire Safety program is to prepare students for applying scientific advances in solving fire protection problems.

Students are introduced to the processes of production threatened by fire, the potential risks that can lead to a fire in the production processes and the appropriate measures taken in order to safely manage the risk of fire in the industry.

They also train for engineering calculations of the combustion process that relate to stoichiometric and thermodynamic problems, the formation of the flame front, its speed, and the sources of ignition. Predicted are objects related to fires and explosions, conditions for their occurrence, classification, parameters …

During the teaching process, we study how to develop and apply instruments and devices for safe extinguishing, we analyze the risks of fire and explosions, attention is paid to the management of fire protection systems in order for the student to acquire the necessary knowledge of independently performing assessments and supervision in the field of fire safety.

The studies last three years, and the study scope is 180 ECTS.

Within the three-year study program, the students have to enroll to 24 courses. Each semester has 2 mandatory and 4 elective courses. Of the possible 4 elective courses, students choose only 2 – and this is chosen between the first and second elective courses, i.e. between the third and fourth, and so on. For example, only one course is selected – or no. 3 or no. 4 (unless otherwise specified).

In the below table Un. elective means a university elective course and the same rules apply to the selection of these courses as for standard electives.

Upon graduation, you will be awarded with a Bachelor of Safety Engineering degree.
